Fedora and Redhat Installer Options


askmethod This command asks you to select the installation method you would like to use when booting from the Red Hat Linux CD-ROM. This includes options to install from NFS, FTP, local .ISOs, etc.
driverdisk Prompt for a driver disk. Same as dd.
ide=nodma This command disables DMA on all IDE devices and may be useful when having IDE-related problems. This would include CD media checking problems and other strange issues with reading CDs, or so I hear.
rescue Run rescue mode.
serial Turn on serial console support.
text Disables the graphical installation program. When the GUI runs, it is on virtual display 1 (Ctrl-Alt-F1) and the text console is on virtual display 2 (Ctrl-Alt-F2). see also...
