Baby teeth follow the same pattern, using A to J for upper right to upper left and K to T for lower left to lower right. Tooth names are the same, the 12 teeth not included are the bicuspids and 3rd molars (wisdom teeth).

• distal: back surface
• lingual: inside (next to tongue)
• occlusal: top (of a molar or bicuspid)
• incisal: top (of an incisor or cuspid)
• buccal: outside (next to cheek)
